Cait received a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Brigham Young University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Simmon’s University. Since obtaining her MSW, she has spent her time working with adults in non-profit substance abuse treatment and in emergency room crisis work. Cait loves to learn and engage in new styles of therapy and has received training in numerous different therapeutic modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Interventions, Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
While pursuing her graduate degree, Cait completed an internship at an alternative high school in Los Angeles, CA. She spent her days working with students to develop healthy behaviors within both the school and home settings. Cait was involved in running therapeutic groups, teaching life skills classes, and providing individual therapy for the students. This opportunity sparked a passion for working with youth and a love of aiding in their personal growth.
In her career prior to joining Alpine, Cait worked a range of positions from being a wilderness guide in northern Minnesota, an emergency medical technician, and in a specialized preschool for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She also spent time abroad teaching English as a Second Language in both China and Taiwan.
Cait believes that all individuals are ultimately searching for meaning and purpose in their lives, and that relationships with others is the key to this goal. Cait’s focus is on helping individuals develop greater self-worth, understanding, and healthy patterns to guide their lives.
In her personal life, Cait is a lover of travel, animals, and coffee. She is in a continual process of planning her next big adventure, whether it be a trip abroad or a backpacking in the wilderness of Utah. When home, she spends her time caring for foster cats and dogs through the humane society.
