Jessica Ragsdale joined Alpine Academy in 2016 bringing with her 12 years of clinical experience. Originally from Utah, she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. She had previously studied at the University of Utrecht in Holland and at Utah State University. In 2005 she earned a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in San Diego, California.
Jessica’s experience has been diverse as she has sought the populations and clientele with which she felt she could be of the most service. For several years she worked with foster children within the child welfare system in California. While in California, Jessica also worked for a program teaching skills to parents of teens. After licensure she focused on offering support related to war-time issues on the military’s naval bases. In these positions she has worked as a clinician and educator, a clinical lead, and a supervisor. Her experience has granted her a strong background in adolescent issues, addictions, situations specific to military personnel, couples work, and the dilemmas found in career and partner choices. Over the last 8 years Jessica also maintained a private clinical practice focused on families and individuals.
Jessica is excited to bring the learning and experience from these positions to her work at Alpine Academy. Jessica is looking forward to working within the Teaching-Family Model as she favors family system models of care alongside Narrative and Solutions-Focused therapy to help her clients learn to overcome the challenges they face.
