Matt & Heather Omer

Family Teachers – Gene Smith Home

Matt and Heather are excited to be Family Teachers at Alpine Academy and feel strongly about making sure the youth that enter their home will feel welcome, safe and that they have a voice.

Matt has a degree in Education from the University of Utah and worked as a teacher for five years before coming to Alpine Academy. Matt has always enjoyed working with youth throughout his life in many different situations including work, home, and church youth groups. His work and personal experiences have given him a great variety of opportunities that have shaped his desire to teach and help individuals discover who they are.

Heather worked for an all-girl in-home youth treatment facility in Logan Utah while attending college at Utah State University. She loved her time there and has loved the similarities found at Alpine. She has been a stay at home mom and loves working with kids to shape their behaviors and skills as well as making sure teenage girls understand their importance and worth.

Heather and Matt have been married since 2008 and have three adorable children and an Australian Shepherd dog. Music has always been a passion for the Omer family. Both grew up in very musical families playing and singing music together. Heather teaches piano, Matt Teaches voice, and their kids love learning new instruments all the time.
