David Clark

David Clark is a Math Teacher at Alpine Academy, joining the team in July 2025. His career path has taken many turns, but each step has given him opportunities to use and share his favorite subject: mathematics. David’s background includes serving in the United States Navy’s nuclear power program, where he applied math at a subatomic level and trained other sailors aboard two different ships. After the Navy, he continued to use his mathematical skills as a machinist and later as a long-time tutor, supporting students in homes, tutoring centers, high schools, and at a local college for more than 30 years.

David has taught math and business courses at the college level as well as in elementary, middle, and high schools for over 20 years. No matter the setting, his favorite part of teaching has always been witnessing students’ learning moments—the unmistakable spark of understanding followed by a smile and an enthusiastic “I get it now!” He loves working with Alpine students and appreciates the opportunity to support them during a pivotal time in their lives. David is consistently impressed by their ability to learn, their thoughtful questions, and the compassion they show one another.

Outside of school, David and his wife enjoy spending time with their four children and seven grandchildren. They love “grandparenting” together, attending concerts, track meets, and soccer games. They also enjoy reading, walking their two Labradors, and watching movies.
