Garrett Plant, LCSW

Primary Therapist
Mountain View

Garrett Plant is a Primary Therapist at Alpine Academy’s Mountain View campus. He earned his Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Utah.

Garrett first discovered he wanted to be a therapist when he was a young teenager. He has always found himself wanting to help others by allowing them to see that we are all stronger than we may appear or believe ourselves to be. He began to explore the mental health field in 2016 and his first social work experience was with adolescents. Following graduate school, Garrett continued to work in both adolescent and adult communities and institutional correction work. His experience includes working students who experience depression, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and addiction.

Throughout Garrett’s life and the lives of his family members, he has experienced some of the lowest lows, and some of the highest highs – which, in a nutshell, he says is what life is all about. Garrett’s goal is to be a genuine person who is able to hold his students accountable while allowing them to grow and heal from past experiences. He is passionate about assistning them in learning to live a life they can love and enjoy.

Garrett loves sports, superheroes, Star Wars, and music. He truly feels that everywhere he goes, he needs music to give a soundtrack to life and to enhance every moment. He loves the fall season because of pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and college football. He loves spending time with his wife and their wonderful Aussie-Doodle named Poppy.
