Jason is Alpine Academy’s Director of Operations, directly overseeing the multi-disciplinary team aspect of treatment for our youth. He and his wife, Crystal, began working for Alpine Academy in June 2007 as Family Teachers in the Gene Smith Home. Since then, Jason worked for years as a Residential Supervisor, then as Alpine’s Marketing Director, before spending a year in Admissions and another as a School Director focused on supporting student behavior within the academic setting (during a pandemic-influenced school year!).
Jason graduated from Brigham Young University in 2007 with a degree in Spanish and Management. He was born in Mesa, Arizona, then lived in Missouri, Arkansas and Mexico during his school-age years. He comes from a large family of six children, of which he is the third. Jason’s hobbies are varied; he loves all sports and outdoor activities, finds time to enjoy reading, and thanks to Crystal, is gaining a great love for the fine arts. He is the proud father of four children: 2 boys and 2 girls.
Jason has always enjoyed working with children and adolescents in a variety of settings; from daycare and after-school programs to teaching ESL and coaching various sporting activities. After 15+ years at Alpine, he feels privileged to have worked with and learned from so many others. He firmly believes that “what we do in life echoes in Eternity,” and that hard work and kindness can improve individual lives and society as a whole.
