Martin & Rachel Stover

Family Teachers

Martin and Rachel are the Family Teachers of the Boulder Ridge Home at Lakeview Campus. They and their two young daughters moved to Alpine Academy from North Dakota.

Martin has worked in the residential field for over six years and has held numerous positions such as youth mentor, house manager, sports coach, athletic director and program manager. Before finding his home in residential treatment, Martin was a corpsman in the United States Navy.

He enjoys fly fishing, backpacking, sports of all types, Dungeons and Dragons, and particularly enjoys activities where he has to use his imagination. His favorite quote is from the Dalai Lama: “If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.”

Rachel was born and raised in Michigan. She is from a large family and is the second youngest of 13 children. She is passionate about creating a positive learning environment for the students in her home.

She loves the community that Alpine Academy has created and appreciates all the communication between the residential, academic, and clinical teams because it helps provide the best environment and treatment for each of the children here. Rachel said, “It is evident that everyone always has the youth’s best interests in mind. I love working here and helping make a difference in others’ lives.”
