Sarah is a Primary Therapist at Alpine Academy. In addition to earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Social Work from the University of Utah, Sarah is trained in a variety of treatments. These include EDMR, Sand Play Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Parent and Child Interaction Therapy, and Forensic Interviewing. She is also certified in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Level 1.

Prior to Alpine Academy, Sarah worked in several roles that allowed her to help others in a variety of ways, including working as a clinical research assistant and a student therapist at Primary Children’s Hospital and as a Child Protective Services caseworker for the Dept of Child and Family Services. In addition to these roles, Sarah also worked as a psychiatrist technician for an adult male residential program and as floor staff for a local homeless shelter.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys reading, skateboarding, and spending time with her husband and her dog, Bentley. When it comes to her position at Alpine Academy, Sarah appreciates the opportunity to connect with students and their families on a long-term basis. She loves the process of self-discovery that occurs in students, and sees it as a very fulfilling and thought-provoking process.
