Dustin joined Alpine Academy in 2013 after gaining experience in out-patient therapy settings and in a residential treatment center for youth. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communication from the University of Utah and completed his Master’s work in Marriage and Family Therapy at Argosy University. His areas of clinical interest are in Systems Theory, Narrative Family Therapy, CBT and addiction recovery.
His personal philosophy for working with families and youth is not telling people what they should do, but rather, helping them discover what they should do. Dustin’s favorite quote is “The universe works mysteriously and you’re the constant beneficiary of its generosity.” (Michaels & Stuz, The Tools) His life has been a model of this principle through his planning and involvement in a variety of service activities for others; including community outreach events to promote the safety of children and families and organizing over 100 college age adults who participated in manufacturing toys for children.
His wife Juliet and four young children, Cadence, Matthew, Eli, and Emmeline, are at the center of his free time. He also enjoys reading, history and learning anything new. He appreciates nature and the outdoors, and is also an artist.
