Parent Training & Support
At Alpine Academy, we believe that true and lasting change requires involvement from the entire family. Our Parent Training & Support resources are designed to equip parents with the tools, understanding, and community they need to confidently support their child’s journey—during treatment and beyond.
Through interactive classes and support groups, parents learn the same principles their child is practicing on campus. This shared understanding fosters stronger family connections and lays the foundation for lasting progress at home.
Parenting Class: A Parallel Process
Six Weeks. One Hour a Week. Lifelong Impact.
Our live, online parenting class is offered in six-week sessions and provides foundational skills drawn from the evidence-based Teaching-Family Model. These are the same skills your child is learning at Alpine, giving you a shared language and approach to build on together.
Class Features:
- Live 1-hour weekly sessions, hosted virtually
- Led by trained instructors with deep experience in the Teaching-Family Model
- Interactive format with time for questions and discussion
- Focus on boundaries, behavior support, and relationship-building
- Practical application at home with noticeable, early impact
Parents often report that as they begin using the tools introduced in class, they see meaningful differences not only in their relationship with their child but also in their confidence as a parent.
Parent Support Group
A Community That Understands
The Parent Support Group offers a confidential space for parents to connect, ask questions, and process the unique challenges of supporting a child in treatment. Hosted twice monthly, this group is facilitated by a member of the Alpine Parent Experience team—often Jason—and occasionally features alumni parents who share valuable insights.
Support Group Highlights:
- Held twice a month (approx. 1 hour)
- Open only to current Alpine parents
- Focused on parent-driven questions and discussion
- Topics vary and are shaped by the group’s needs
- A non-judgmental space for connection and mutual support
Many parents express that this group is one of the few places they’ve felt fully understood—without fear of judgment or stigma. It’s a space where community forms naturally through shared experience.
Why It Matters
The Parenting Class and Support Group are more than add-ons, they are core parts of Alpine’s approach. When parents are trained in the same skills as their children, families build trust, alignment, and momentum together. These experiences create lasting change at home, long after residential treatment ends.
