Mandy Pumphrey

Mandy Pumphrey is a seasoned educator, currently teaching the Family & Consumer Science classes and providing some Career Technology courses as well.  These classes (Foods, Clothing, Animal Science, to name a few) are often requested by the students, as they enjoy the hands-on curriculum, the passion, and the animals that Ms. Mandy brings to the classroom.  Her classes have been given unique opportunities to help nurture an orphaned baby goat, hatch baby chicks and raise them to be laying hens, and train dogs.

For five years before joining Alpine Academy, she focused on working with students facing behavioral and mental health challenges in public schools, showcasing her adaptability and dedication to fostering inclusive learning environments.  She is a skilled behaviorist who provides helpful insights to treatment teams who are writing support plans and seeking a better understanding of a student’s motivation.

Over the years, she has taught in elementary, junior high, and high school settings. While she’s thinking about her students and ways she can help them succeed, Mandy stays busy farming and raising many animals of her own.
